The savings to the environment are obvious, plus the dumping of waste at the the Thornbury facility can be combined with the weekly shopping visits.

To recycle in Thornbury would be so good for us as Horsley is so far away for me to drive as I am 84 next January.

Longer journey to Horsley is not conducive to a cleaner atmosphere.

Totally agree with all the comments about Stone,Ham and Alkington residents having access to the Thornbury tip. Makes complete sense in this age of rising fuel costs and environmental awareness and respect.

Please let us use the Thornbury Recycling Centre again like we used to do until South Glos changed the rules. It seems quite ridiculous to have to travel all the way to Horsley and it is very offputting.

Apart from the obvious environmental cost saving by using Thornbury recycling centre instead of Horsley, our normal shopping and medical/dental services are in Thornbury, so there is a further benefit to the environmental cost as well as supporting businesses in Thornbury.

Thornbury is much more accessible and fuel efficient/green as we already to/past Thornbury’ rather than heading out to Horsley

It would be an immense benefit to myself (in my mid-70s) and my wife (late-60s) to be able to use the Recycling Centre, to which we had access when my wife lived in Thornbury for many years. All our other amenities - shopping, health care, volunteer work, etc. - are in Thornbury and it seems bizarre that we are excluded from such a valuable facility as the recycling centre. I support Mr Clark's plea for the logical inclusion of the GL12 postcode.

Using Thornbury tip makes economic sense when regularly shopping or using facilities in the town

We live in Lower Stone but our post code Is GL12 8DJ. This code would leave us out of the GL13 group so we would still have to travel to Horsley! We sign the petition on the basis that we would be included and be able to use the centre in Thornbury

Thornbury is so much closer and more convenient. I could combine shopping in Thornbury, supporting local businesses, with my garden waste disposal. A win win situation.

As it is nearly a 24 mile round journey to Horsley from Stone, we would find it extremely helpful to be able to use the Sort It facility in Thornbury.

We have a large garden and would appreciate disposing of extra garden waste nearer home.

26 mile round trip to Horsley tip. 10 mile round trip to Thornbury tip.
Will improve South Gloucestershire recycling percentages.

I’ve been personally petitioning for this directly with Stroud CC a few years ago so yes it makes absolutely sense for south glos Council to finally agree to do this! Like everyone else in Stone we do all our other day to day requirements in Thornbury too!
