As an NGO governing the sport of water polo it is absolutely your responsibility to prioritize the safety and welfare of all of your constituents. If let predators like this get away with such despicable behavior, how do your athletes feel protected, how does anyone trust. Your failure to do your job likely violates a few IOC policies, in a me too & BLM world, where women and other marginalized people are constantly under attack you should and must be and do better.

It is the responsibility, the LAW, of ALL adults in youth sports (or any youth organization) to protect from and report any abuse done to these kids.

Membership especially minors need to be assured that complaints will be investigated and reported to proper authorities to feel safe while participating.

Reporting responsibility lies at the top of the organization. Do not throw Christy Sicard under the bus and make her a sacrificial lamb for decisions made or duties neglected at the top.

This sport has given me so much and as a coach, it is my responsibility to make sure my athletes are in a safe environment. Our top officers should have been doing the same, and this is unacceptable.
