Many things for horses come in paste form in tubes. However, almost all of these tubes look the same at quick glance. There are cases of less than vigilant horse owners giving their horses fatal amounts of medications because they grabbed the wrong tube. To help owners we urge the manufacturers of frequently used horse products to collaborate and color code their medications with different color tubes. For example, bute could be red, banamine yellow, and dewormer green. There are, of course, many products that come in tubes, but if the major three could be covered it would be very helpful to owners.
