It should be saved - let them get water working in the fountain and force the owners of taffes to clean it up - first

Absolutely disgusting. This is another sign of how out of touch local politicians are with the people of Galway. Do we not have a say in this ? People responsible should be ashamed of themselves.

Why don't city hall listen to the people. Most of the time they think they know better........over and over again they show that they don't.

Such a shame for this beautiful iconic piece of art had to be painted over. It had a big impact on me as a regular visiter to Galway. And really highlighted the importance of the Claddagh ring and where it comes from. It should be restored and as soon as possible , disgusting decision by council officials there

What's going on? If they own the building, they can paint whatever they want within reason. What's with liberals and socialists? The artist could have done a better job, however it doesn't need to be a Picasso.

This mural is often the only glimpse of blue on a gloomy day and merges perfectly with the sky on a sunny day. Why would anyone want to get rid of it, its crazy.

Leave the mural alone and spend the money on flood defences or barriers to stop any more people falling in to the river

The mural should stay! It's become a beautiful sight as you walk up town from Quay Street. Hands off! (Well done Alan for starting this petition.

I think the objection is fueled by competitors. Keep the mural.
