URGENT! Stop Choto Landing Development in West Knoxville

I am concerned about the state of TN. Please stop this development.

This is insane. Stop this development as it will devalue the surrounding neighborhoods

Traffic on Northshore is horrible already especially in the mornings!

I oppose the inclusion of Section 8 Housing in the Choto area for the intuitively obvious reason that it is going to have a negative impact on our community as a whole. This community, is the result of hard-working tax paying families, wanting to live in an area of good schools, low crime and reduced stresses. Bring this project to our area will devalue our investment in our property, degrade our schools, and will make our life more dangerous, without providing one iota of good for our community.

We do not need any section housing to devaluation if our property value or create crime and traffic jams

Already too much traffic on a narrow road with no shoulders.

I am opposed to Choto Landing and our tax dollars should be used to fund other projects! The area is not prepared for that volume of traffic, nor does this area have the services these housing units would need.

This area is inappropriate for this type of housing as well as a completely inappropriate use of taxpayer money.

Please don’t approve this development. It is incompatible with the housing in the area and will increase traffic that already exceeds infrastructure among other issues.

I am opposed to the proposed development.

This is an inappropriate area for this development as the area is already overcrowded, has traffic issues, & has water issues. Please reconsider!

Our schools and infrastructure cannot support this. Our roads and traffic, schools, etc are overflowing and struggling already.

Vehemently against this development. Leave the zoning as is

This is the most illogical and irresponsible development proposal I've seen. As a resident of the area, I see firsthand the myriad of reasons this project should not move forward. Primary concerns include traffic congestion and volume, unsuitable infrastructure, existing runoff and flooding issues, overcrowded schools, and the high-density nature of the community which is out of character for the Choto area. Think how much more good could be done for people who need this kind of housing if it were located in a place that made more sense - not premium lakefront property. MPC should do what is right and deny this application.

This development will be a blight on the beautiful Choto area. In five years it will be rundown with no recourse. Knox County needs to quit making sweetheart deals with developers before the public becomes aware. This will be a major election issue.

Roads and infra structure in the area cannot support such planned development. This area is supposed to be high end individual houses, not this type.

I have experience in this type of development as well as the management arm, many years in fact. I know that a community of residents with lower income will be better served in a different environment than the Choto area. I believe what we are missing is to ask, can the residents thrive in our area of the city. The answer is no. Will they have easy access to public transportation, will the children live close enough to walk to school as buses will not accommodate any extra curricular activities outside reg school hours? Will there be shopping close to this location with limited transportation? Will their jobs, churches, social activities they are familiar with or comfortable participating in be close enough for continue attending? There are many other aspects to think through, but bottom line, what is best for the residence of the new Community as well as the existing communities? Put the politic aside, mark the hard decision to care about the residents of this potential new development.
