I am writing on behalf of the Pinegate community to bring urgent attention to the ongoing issue of repeated power outages in the area surrounding Flat Creek Road and Golfview Drive. These outages—triggered even by mild storms—are a result of the above-ground powerlines that still exist in our section of Peachtree City.

Unlike other parts of the city that benefit from underground infrastructure, our community continues to experience severe inconvenience and safety risks due to outdated utility lines. These frequent outages have damaged personal property, interrupted essential services, and left many residents—particularly the elderly and those with medical needs—vulnerable.

Attached to this letter, you will find a signed petition from residents of Pinegate who are calling for immediate action. We respectfully urge the City of Peachtree City to investigate this long-standing infrastructure issue and prioritize the undergrounding of powerlines in our neighborhood.

Our request is not just about convenience—it is about equity, reliability, and the safety of residents who contribute to and care deeply for this community.

We thank you in advance for your time, leadership, and your attention to this matter. We look forward to hearing how the city plans to address these ongoing concerns.

We have lived here 33 years and have lost power over the past year more than all the other years combined. I don’t care who fixes the situation, it simply needs to be fixed. We have to do without our needed medical equipment and risk losing valuable foods over and over again. We are just as important as all the other PTC residents that enjoy buried lines without having to beg for them to meet our needs.

Since moving to the Pinegate neighborhood less than 6 months ago, I’ve experienced several power outages. I have endured as many outages in this one location than the combined outages I have experienced living in 20 separate locations throughout the country over the past 28 years.

The power surge that occurred the first of June blew out our main floor air conditioner and we had to get a new one. Another neighbor at the end of the street. lost two units. The power disruptions are getting ridiculous and not safe. Please do something about it!!!!!!

I completely support this petition. We just bought an incredibly expensive GENERAC to overcome the constant power outages we have, they are an impediment for my remote work, not to mention all the stress of going without AC during heat dome days and spoiled food in our fridge.

Three lengthy power outages ALL caused by trees coming down into power lines that could be placed underground in the existing right of way. Georgia Power needs to step and Peachtree City needs to get onboard with this.

Power lost numerous times over last several months. Unable to use our CPAPs that are medically required. Ridiculous!
