Update-
The Planning Commission has pulled this item from the Agenda and it won't be heard. This will be brought up again at another time. You can view the October agenda on line at vbgov.com. It was decided after letters went out from the city.
This petition and the paper ones that have circulated will still be presented to officials to share your opinions on this matter.

So I have this right-are we talking about a bed and breakfast with high turnover, being run in the middle of Lago Mar? Really? I oppose! This is a neighborhood-not the resort area! If you need to do this, you should relocate.

What ever happened to private property rights in this country? What if the neighborhood started to dislike Hondas, red umbrellas, scary looking dogs, the light rail... (See what I did there?)
As for it being a "hotel anyway you cut it", using that logic, might as well call all the homes where an elderly person has daily help a NURSING HOME.

I really wish people would not only mind their own business, but if they have a problem with a neighbor to discuss it like grown adults instead of like back in high school. It is sad that you just assume what we are doing, without asking us! We have lived here for over 14 years and have never been treated more unfairly until now. No one stopped to think how this effects us and our children. It has caused a lot of stress on us and our kids. Congrats to whomever started this. They should feel really proud of themselves. Love thy neighbor? Really?

I love the way you all hide behind your keyboards and create online campaigns against your neighbors. It says a lot about my neighbors.
Nobody has knocked on my door to see what it's all about or my opinion about it. I'm not trying to have a variance to allow a second dwelling on my property, as it would devalue our property values.
Mine isn't the only Airbnb in Lagomar. There's a full house and a room within walking distance as well.
This only came to fruition because our lovely neighbor likes to complain about everything and contacted zoning several times. This has cost me $2,000 in legal fees.
The property values are likely more impacted by the 3 year vacant home next door to me or the multiple foreclosures, not an owner occupied home.
If anyone is brave enough to ask questions and discuss this like adults, the pool house is vacant, come over for a drink. We'll only charge you an hourly rate.

I strongly oppose this variance. This us not a resort, it's a residential neighborhood. This can set a bad precedent and will decrease values and desirability of the neighborhood.

I am surprised the he is allowed now to rent the pool and pool house. I am against the proposal. It will not meet zoning. Once you start, you can't go back.
