Urgent Call for a Complete Allen and Eglinton Traffic Study (no donations necessary)

We have suffered through years of traffic problems on our residential streets and Eglington, challenged access to the Allen, parking problems for local retail and the current plans risk making this permanent!

I agree with the proposal. No more work re-configuring Eglinton should be undertaken without a complete impact study.

I leave in this area for the last 22 years. It was and is constant nightmare and struggle to pass this intersection to my office and back home every day. I look at this intersection with eyes of civil engineer with 40+ engineering consulting experience and it looks like the intersection was built without any understanding how traffic flowing there. It is a shame for the city of Toronto to deliver project like this

The traffic study supports evidence based decision making

It’s absolutely vital that a traffic study be conducted on residential streets before any further work is completed.

Bike lanes create limitations for emergency vehicles to access their targets. We are serving a small special interest group with bike lanes rather than the safety and steady careful flow of vehicles.

Do better. The bike lanes and reduced parking in this neighbourhood are terrible ideas.

I’ve replied to city requests for feedback numerous times, asking them to consider letting things return to normal before undertaking major changes. Let’s hope they listen to us as a group!

Please don't do what you're proposing. These roads are already narrow and easily gridlock and backup many many blocks east and west of eglinton / Allen. Removal of parking spaces coupled with potential parking tickets on all surrounding streets will decrease my interest in shopping at the businesses on Eglinton.

It’s hard to believe this is real ….

for a first world country- we should be ashamed and aghast at the over drawn financial and emotional strain that this crosslinks project has taken. Where is the due diligence? Years overdue and millions over cost- it is the residents of the city who are being taken advantage of. When will it end? Who will take responsibility?

it's not just the change in vehicle traffic that needs to be considered high streets do not do well with no stores or unprofitable ones and perhaps Eglinton west improvements need to unique for each neighbourhood so that they have interest for foot traffic, ease of access for pedestrians as well as drivers alongside changing 63 and 90 bus connections and how Eglinton West connects with the villages and residents north and south of this 6+km stretch of high street also it is not meant to all look like corporate brands and condos post covid means a change of living space entirely

The traffic mess has become unbearable for the people living here. There are days I cannot get onto my street
