NO Bike Lane

I urge Metrolinx and the city to read the attached report and implement its recommendations. I also urge the city to reconsider its processes in light of the fact that private citizens are doing the work tax payers are paying you to do.

We need safety on the roads. There have been two accidents over the last two months that could have ended very tragically. We must make a change

This is ridiculous. Why would we further reduce the number of lanes and increase congestion

the city is relying on static 2012 traffic volume data to model its designs, without accounting for population growth, residential intensification, and the pressure that major regional redevelopment will put on the Allen – and, by extension, on our neighbourhood. The city needs to rethink its outdated plans!!!

It is demoralizing, though, to see exposed the level of incompetence of the various authorities... e.g.: "Despite the acknowledged importance of a proper study, Transportation Infrastructure Management staff later recommended that the [Comprehensive Allen Road Study] be abandoned for reasons related to budget and scope. Council voted to cancel it in 2016. It also appears that the vital traffic studies that were meant to assess forecasted volumes and residential infiltration have not been completed either. Today, the new Allen and Eglinton interchange is nearly complete and eglintonTOday is proposing to reconfigure Eglinton using static 2012 traffic volume data." Vigilante urban planning, anyone? ;-)

As a resident I see it’s will cause more problem for everyone and also will cause much much more traffic.

Why on earth would you ever EVER put a bike lane on a street that feeds into a major artery- the Allan Expressway!!!! Furthermore take away the parking which will affect the business Ed in the area DRASTICALLY

The gridlock and traffic chaos is horrendous. We must do better.

Residential streets should not be made the off ramp for poor roadway planning. Neighbourhoods deserve safe streets not inner city thoroughfares. Narrow westbound Eglinton traffic opening to multiple lanes west of Bathurst will maintain the existing backup bottleneck causing Waze to direct commercial vehicles and Allen bound cars to exit north on Old Forest Hill Road to the detriment of the entire north west Village.

Sorry but your planning department has zero credibility, now that my family has lived through 12 years of traffic chaos, and now my street, Glen Cedar road, with the blessing of the city, is a major traffic and commercial thoroughfare. Do your job. Toronto is supposed to be a city of neighborhoods, not residential expressways!

How could you create this traffic nightmare without doing a proper traffic study beforehand??? This has resulted in traffic chaos on my street Westover Hill - would you like to sit in traffic for 30 min on your street waiting to get in and out of your driveway??? This is so irresponsible of you. Nobody knows what the other is doing. All involved organizations claims that doing anything is not within their jurisdiction. This is outtrageous. The City doesnt know what Eglinton Today is doing. They have already installed bike lanes along Eglinton WITHOUT ANY CONSULTATION! This causes Eglinton to be a single lane in each direction leading to a further back up traffic spilling into our neighbourhood! Also - how could you design bike lanes going across the Allen Road - do you want deaths to occur? You should be ashamed of yourselves for your shoddy planning, lack of proper public consultation, and inability to remedy this abhorrent situation! I used to practice municipal law AND HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH A THOUGHTLESS, POOR AND NEGLIGENT DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION IMPACTING HUNDREDS OF RESIDENTS AND ESPECIALLY THOSE OF US LIVING ON WESTOVER HILL - which has become the on-ramp to the Allen Road! YOU WOULD NEVER PUT UP WITH THIS SITUATION IF YOU LIVED IN OUR SHOES! Shame on you!
