Urgent Call for a Complete Allen and Eglinton Traffic Study (no donations necessary)

I hope that the city can do a significantly better job and understanding the needs of the community that live, work and use the Eglinton Allen corridor and surrounding areas before finalizing and implementing a plan. The last 10-12 years have been disastrous. Let’s do better!

this is a travesty. That area is so over whelmed with traffic now and any study done 11 years ago is irrelevant to day, 11 years later

The city, the province and metro link has let us down.

This area is a disaster and after all we have been through we need a proper assessment to protect the neighbourhood. And ease up with the bike lanes reducing driving lanes. It snows here 6months of the year in case you forgot.

Please do the traffic study urgently. Traffic volume is much, much greater than it was ten years ago.

2012 Data is too old to follow Traffic volumes change in this constantly changing city. Things in the past that make you great can destroy you in the future. Change is the only constant.

Traffic & safety are already huge problems in the area. Proper studies & planning are much needed.

Eleven years of change and growth have passed since the last survey. A new survey is necessary to reflect current traffic patterns.

I live on Westover Hill rd. I am a teacher and gave to leave 30 minutes before necessary and sometimes I sit on my street for another 30 minutes to get from the corner to my house half way down the street. I fear for my health due to the pollution on my tiny street. This has been years… come on … do something to alleviate the traffic jams!

Agree with this. Also - we have the belt line. This will cost 250k while the city is 1 billion in debt and we are the 3rd worst city in North America for traffic congestion which impacts our side street businesses also. The problem to solve isn't for cyclists, it's traffic congestion for the other 99%. Most cyclists use the belt line anyways. None of the proposal suggests where to move this traffic to.

That's exactly what the City wants so they or developers can buy up land and build condos just as they have done on St. Clair W. Just wait, it's coming in their "Avenues" plan to uber-densify St. Clair W, Eglinton W and Lawrence W. It's already awful on St. Clair since they rebuilt the street car lanes and started building condo after condo with more 5-7 more towers coming to St. Clair/Bathurst, it's going to radically alter our beautiful neighbourhood.

It is not enough that the residents of Cedarvale have effectively been hostages in their own neighborhood for the last decade, now the current plan will make it impossible to get anywhere north. The impact on all northbound streets is already beyond ridiculous, and this plan will only serve to make the situation worse. City planners should come to the neighborhood at between 3-6 to see what it is like.
