The 4 way stop at 56th and Central is necessary for safety. Especially with the newly paved road, people will be driving even faster on Central. Why remove something that a prior traffic study said was badly needed?

Keep the four-way stops....remove the speed bumps!! Changing the patterns is more dangerous and disruptive than status quo!

please continue to keep all stop signs on Central. Central needs as much traffic calming opportunities as possible.

Removing these stop signs is insane, particularly the stop at 56th and Central, which is a blind intersection because of the hill. People already gun it from one stop to the next. Removing them will just make a bad situation worse.

When school is in session this corridor becomes very congested. Keep the stop signs and extend the traffic calming tables to the full width of the road.

I live just off of Central and cycle on it frequently and am very concerned about removal of the stop signs. Many drivers don’t stop completely and turn onto cyclists coming down the street and this will make it more dangerous. Also, it will make it very difficult for the school kids and dog walkers to cross the street.

MKNA and DPW, Please tell me the changes to Central Ave are not part of the new "Central Avenue Commuter Route" thus being permanent. We need our stop signs!

Why must we turn a bucolic residential side street that runs past four different schools in the space of a couple of miles into some sort of major through-traffic thoroughfare? Isn't that what Meridian and Keystone are for? There's a reason residents paid for a traffic study out of their own pockets and had stop signs installed in the first place.

Even with the stop signs there, the street is very dangerous as many, many drivers run the stop signs.

This corridor is part of a RESIDENTIAL neighborhood, full of homes, schools, and churches.

The stop lights are only diverting more traffic down the side streets which kids are actively walking to and from school. This is dangerous.

With three young children who walk back and forth to school along Central Avenue, I believe it is imperative that all measures are taken to control automobile speed on the street. Please, Indianapolis, ere on the side of safety!

We worked very hard and paid $20,000 for a traffic study that included the intersection of 56TH and Central. PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE ANY OF THE 4 way stops. There are hundreds of children that walk and bike to the many schools along Central!

Very short sighted of all involved. Apparently none of the "planners" live in the area or they would see the ridiculousness of diverting traffic to Central Ave, Speed Humps and removal of stop signs that took years of petitioning by residents to get installed.

I have kids at CFI 84, and St Joan of Arc and I’m concerned about both the increase in traffic and lack of stop signs along Central Ave. Please place children’s safety above commuting times to work.

There has to be a better, safer solution.
