Don’t take this space away from children bc the administration is failing.

Researching alternative locations that would be more beneficial and safer for asylum seekers would be option for the city to consider. considering the failed temporary location on Randall’s Island didn’t work out then spending tax payers more to build brand new building when we have 100’s of empty commercial spaces already available to retro fit to cheap accommodation would be a far cheaper temporary alternative for the city and the asylum seekers.

It is disgraceful how many sacrifices we have been asked to make as New Yorkers. We pay crazy high rents and taxes but we seem to keep coming in last. It’s sad but after so many years of being a proud NYer, I can no longer live here. I have to put my children first.

My son played on these fields. Future children deserve the same opportunities.

Our NYC kids have suffered enough the last 3 years with the incompetence of your leadership. You kept our kids out of school and now you’re taking away their space to play. Please put our kids first.

Use a city owned grass field or some vacant city owned commercial space, not active ball fields!

Where I feel deep compassion for the immigrants, we are welcoming to our city, it should not be at the cost of the very few athletic fields we have in our boroughs.

Please save the fields for our kids! There are other options even on Randall’s Island.

Idiotic that our kids should have further set-backs on their childhood, following Covid / the Pandemic’s impact on NYC Families..

Our kids shouldn’t suffer because other countries governments are inept. Space for recreation is already in short supply in this city.

Depriving kids of sports is not the way to solve this problem.

Please don't let this happen to our fields! There are many other areas on Randalls Island to build this type of facility.

I played sports on this field everyday of high school and I hope my kids will get to do the same as a lifelong New Yorker!
