Urge the Council to reduce the proposed 55% increase to burial costs in Birmingham from April 2019

Reduce the proposed burial costs. This is extortionate and will put extra pressures on grieving families.

It will become unaffordable for most families.

I strongly believe the proposal to increase burial cost is a disgusting slap at grieving families. As you can imagine, the last thing grieving families need to deal with is raising more funds to bury their loved ones instead of just grieving their loss. I strongly urge Birmingham City Council to put themselves in the shoes of these families and remove this proposal or come up with a sensible proposal that does not cause further grief to Birmingham families. This getting ridiculous day by day increase in burials ,council tax ,and less services started to pick up bins one every 2 weeks

The money to high how will a minimum wage pay the cost for a funeral. You need to charge less so poor people can burt their loved ones in dignity

This 55% increase is immoral,especially when the families are grieving.Also wages and pensions are only rising by about 3% If at all.

No need for this extortion, dying is a neccesity not privilege

I think it’s hard enough for lots of people, if it’s increased it gone be more hard for everyone. I think council will consider it.

We as a community of Birmingham disagree with the increased costs of burial. This is an infringement of basic human rights, people die, not by choice and the needs of graves and the rights to a funeral and burial are a part of a necessity for all mankind.

Disgraceful and unjustified!

With inflation and low paid jobs can’t afford the basic dignified end to my life. Disgusting rise.
