Urge the Council to reduce the proposed 55% increase to burial costs in Birmingham from April 2019

The increased burial costs will cause distress for those who are already bereaved and lost a loved one. Please do not cause further hardship, especially for those who are not wealthy.

Please stop this unfair increase. I dealt don't understand the need for such an extortionate hike.

Why are the council being allowed to profit from death? The land they use is public, bought with funds from tax and council tax etc. Therefore to run burial as a for profit venture is disgusting from a so called public servant body like the council. The actual cost of burial is minimal compared to the one charged. The land is already paid for by tax payers, so to charge £2000 plus for a grave in public owned land is extortion, then to charge over £600 just to use a digger to dig the grave is far in excess of the diesel and hourly wage of the employee doing that task. Should be illegal for councils or the government to profit from death as simple as that!

Please reduce cost of burying loved ones... life is already challenging just to live a simple life and all you can do is increase price for cost of burial... you should feel ashamed... just stop it!! And grow a heart !

This is very expensive especially with the rising costs of funerals

It is already very expensive to live, please spare this for the dead

Price should be reduced for burial it shouldn't go up, people endup there whole life paying taxes,national insurance,bills,rent,mortgages Etc and again this big expense which is effecting deceased families.
