Long overdue improvement needed on this line and increased frequency would help massively particularly at peak times.

The upgrade is needed now as this line is falling behind in the level of service provided elsewhere in Scotland

This is long overdue on one of the busiest train lines in Scotland. We deserve a better service than the substandard one we currently receive.

Electrification of railway to East Kilbride is long overdue and it's a disgrace that it's been kicked into the long grass for so long. Shotts, Whifflet, Paisley Canal, Cumbernauld, the list of lesser used lines that have been electrified goes on and on. Give our area the railway it deserves!

This line is one of the busiest commuter routes in Scotland - and electrification/ modernisation is long overdue.

We need better links to Glasgow, and new links to places like Hamilton and motherwell. It's ridiculous that we have to go into Glasgow to get a train to these places. And a local EK rail loop would be useful too.

I'm a long time supporter of improvements to our rail connection. However, in my opinion our strategic thinking should go further and involve proposals for a step change in the rail offering for EK. We are the 6th most populous settlement in Scotland and have only a paltry half hourly service (which averages 20mph) to one destination. We need (and could have) direct services to other parts of Lanarkshire, and also places beyond Glasgow such as the Airport, Stirling, Edinburgh. Our town needs this kind of connectivity to diversify and thrive. Capacity constraints on the wider rail network may hinder some of these ideas but I would like to see some ambition coming from our councillors and Parliamentary reps. Thanks, Duncan.

This needs to happen ASAP. East Kilbride has became a forgotten about backwater. It need not be and this can help re- invigorate this once great town

The line was saved from closure a number of years ago. As the town has grown in recent years the trains are getting more crowded, and upgrading it would be beneficial to all.

Years of trains terminating at Busby because they're late and passengers being told to wait for the next train, lack of parking at Hairmyres. The train line is no longer fit for purpose due to the growth of the town

I have a friend who stays in Cambuslang, just along the road from EK with regular trains and a 15 minutes journey. EK service is shocking .

For the size of EK & the number of passengers using the train the service to Glasgow is ridiculous. Only 2 trains per hour with 2 carriages is ridiculous!! It's high time this is corrected!!
