Our body. Our choice. If it doesn't affect you at work. We should be able to do what we choose. Worry about those with alcohol abuse problems who come into work hung over or still drunk. Worry about those that stay up all night and come into work with very little sleep. So many other issues to worry about.

I feel for you being a life long mariana smoker myself to treat my chronic back pain and sleep apnea.its very hard for me to have a good sleep without it and am constantly hiding my pain . But have had to quit on and off for the last few years to put food on the table for my family .I believe this is very unfair and there needs to be changes to the system. If you have a prescription for it and even if you don't as long as your not under the influence at work it should be of no business to employers what you do on your free time. It's unbelievable that the union will not back you with your prescription. As a fellow union member I find this to be disgraceful. Hopefully this petition will make a change for the better. So hard working men and women can use there medication when they need it and not be forced to go without, or pushed toward some evil pharmaceutical .those are the real killers

Hard for some people to work without it. Just like other narcotics that are allowed.

Good for you for standing up. May you find a solution so you aren't out of work too long. I know you are a hard worker, sucks to now have these road blocks. Good luck!

Change is definatly needed. If you have a prescription they CAN'T get rid of you. I would rather work with someone who smokes on their time off than someone who is taking oxycotin on company time. Good luck!

I dont agree with the whole thc in your system, because it can be in your system for months even if you are using it recreationally during your own time. Alcohol is 100 times worse for you as an employee. And I'm not innocent myself, im sure we have all had our fair share of being hungover at work at atleast one point in hour lives, and I know you cant say you were 100% efficiant that day. Cannibis will NOT do this to you or retard you in any way shape or form the next day, I think its time we stop living in the past and open hour eyes to whats real! The only reason this is an issue is because people are afraid of change, afraid to change rules and regulations because someone within the corperation still thinks cannibis is a harmful drug in some type of way. FACT: cannibis can directly replace adderol, it can help people with anxiety, it can replace sesure medication, it kills cancer cells, and it helps with depression. Therefor impoving the patients quality of life....so why wouldnt you want an employee who is happy mentally healthy and FIT to work. Just my thoughts, thankyou for reading.
