Our third generation May 2015 graduate has anticipated the traditional graduation ceremony every day she went to class and every late night studying for tests.
I'll be done with all my courses at the end of the summer, but I'll have to come back for graduation all the way in December...this makes no sense and seems really unnecessary!

In an attempt to save money since the school is so heavily in debt, I understand looking for ways to save money. However, taking away the August graduation for students who have been planning their academic careers around this graduation date is unfair. From the time I transferred to UNT, my advisor has told me to graduate in August since an internship is required for me degree, and following her advice, I organized my academic career to do so. Rather than not allowing thousands of students to graduate on their anticipated graduation, it would be wise to refrain from spending an incredible amount of money on new trash cans or building a new union, when the one we had before was perfectly ok,

I look forward to watching my husband graduate (and walk) this weekend! I would hate for that to be taken away from other spouses and/or relatives.

As a UNT alumna I find it very disheartening that future students will not have the same graduation day experience that I did. Walking the stage is more than just another event on campus. It's such an honor and personal validation for our hard work to have your name recognized in front of you peers and family. And on top of it to have two different ceremonies, how do they expect family and friends to arrange that? Inconsiderate and not well thought out Mr. Smatresk.

Students wait their entire lives to earn that right of passage and walk across the stage in front of their family, peers and thousands of strangers. It doesn't suffice to have mini-graduations all over the place. UNT Admin & Board of Directors, what an extremely poor choice.

I just recently graduated and it would be a SHAME to NOT let the graduates walk. You NEED to keep this tradition alive.
