How ridiculous! I graduate this semester, fall 2014, and I have worked my butt off jumping the hurdles that UNT has placed in my way, JUST to graduate. How dare Neal Smatresk decide to take this away from those who have worked so hard to accomplish this. Does he not want to shake hands with those who graduate? Do the deans of the colleges not want to shake hands with those that have finally surpassed the demise of UNT? How outrageous! I hope this reaches news agencies! The only way this will EVER change is if it is reported nationwide and there is a nationwide outbreak of disgust towards Neal Smatresk.

Walking the stage is something we look forward to. For those of us graduating we have worked very hard to get our degrees. For one brief moment we are publicly acknowledged for that hard work. Don't take away this tradition. I'm not one to be glued to tradition, but in this case I am. What is the actual purpose of changing to this new way of commencement? Please explain what you plan to accomplish, and in detail. And while you're at it, please scrap this ridiculous notion. I will actually change schools if this is implemented.

It's taken me forever to get where I am academically, looking forward to walking the stage is what keeps me pushing through sometimes. I hate the idea of not being able to take that walk, the idea of it has been a motivational icon for me when things get rough. Taking away the walk would make my degree feel so much less valuable and take rob me of much needed closure from my college experience.

Traditions are valuable, they are what make a country. Also walking across that stage and receiving your diploma. That's closure and an amazing sense of complete. Yea the ceremony is long and tedious but its worth it to every soul that attends. Don't take that away from us, the students

Those who have supported the students throughout their academic journey are being insulted by this decision. Clearly there are not enough seats to host a warm, welcoming celebration of education. If the school is trying to save money by cutting back graduation staff, I believe that the plan will back fire. Future students who are considering to attend UNT may turn away due to this change in tradition. I hope the school reconsiders so I won't have to watch from the parking lot rather than the cheap seats in the stadium.

This is unacceptable! Is this UNT's stupid way to save money!? They shouldn't be taking away our Mean Green Traditions because of their inability to allocate funds properly!

This new graduation plan devalues our entire college experience. College is meant to be a more individual experience, as opposed to the conglomerate that this graduation plan would suggest.

I was a December grad 4 years ago, and I woukd have hated the fact that i would have to wait a whole semester to be recognized. Come on UNT, don't change to 1 ceremony JUST so it can held in apogee.
