Unnatural hair coloring has been deemed a "distraction" by many administrators in hoco - when i color my hair nobody is disracted by it the mst i get is a "oh ur hair is cute!' - nobody at all was distracted by my blue hair. my teachers complimented me & so did the students but apparently it was still a "distraction". The administration is causing more of a distraction by taking us out of clsss & interrupting our learning time. I & many others believe that all students throughout houston county should be allowed to have any hair color they want.

i honestly think that it's ridiculous to tell girls/boys that something on their own body is "distracting". it's creepy and just downright wrong. girls/boys and women/men should feel comfortable in how they look, but when they get told that they look "distracting", that makes them embarrassed and self conscious.

Hair color should not be deemed a distraction from education; self-expression that harms no one is not a classroom detriment. To assume that a student's hair color would prevent others from learning is entirely foolish and certainly would not be corroborated by peers' comments. If certain hairstyles are disallowed by a school dress code, that is understandable, especially if the school in question is a magnet / private school. However, it is simply ridiculous to lambaste a student for wearing a certain hair color that they like to school.
