I am a grandfather of 10 children of which 3 attend St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Elementary School in Oceanside, CA. I have been a parishioner here in Oceanside since 1980 and am
currently a eucharistic minister. My wife and I have both done our part by being vaccinated for the COVID-19 virus and we believe that California has reached “heard immunity” at this point as the cases of COVID-19 have dropped so dramatically. It only makes since to now unmask the children in schools so they may enjoy the rest of their childhood and grow socially as our Lord originally intended.

Masks are harming our children. It’s time to take them off.
As a faithful Catholic mother of six, I fail to see how this following God. Masking children who have no risk of serious disease or death. Where is the bravery to stand up for children in the name of God?

Masks have been proven to be full of Germs and viruses at the end of a school day. They get wet from saliva and sneeze spray from the mouth. They also cause a child to breathe in more CO². Most children don't wear them correctly, with gaps at the sides of the face or nose. And, many children refuse a mask before washing. It makes no sense to bind a child's face all day when masks are meant to be worn for short periods.
