Masks should be a CHOICE in a public school with no state mandate. A choice left to the parents of these children. Not only should your mask be enough to protect anyone concerned, you have a number of different options for your children. Not only does evidence show that children and schools are low risk for COVID, look at the emotional, social and mental damage all of this is doing to CHILDREN. Either way, it is not for the school to decide but the families.

Masks are probably the least effective thing we can do to protect kids. They are the least likely of all the groups to spread the virus, thus making them the safest group by nature. Requiring masks for all young kids is doing more harm than good. My kids have complained that it is hard to breathe, especially during PE and outside. As the weather heats up I WILL NOT have my kids risk difficulty breathing because they are required to wear something that doesn't even protect from viruses in the first place. Read the box- they are dust masks at best.

It was understandable to hope that face coverings might help slow the spread of a respiratory virus. Unfortunately, it hasn't worked, and the masks not only don't slow the virus, they harm our bodies, hearts, and minds, especially the youngest. Please join the 45 ISDs that have decided to let their students, teachers, and staff choose to breathe freely.
