The sheer volume of people joining this fight proves that Texas lawmakers cannot ignore the cruelty of House Bill 705 any longer. This momentum shows that the public is sick of policies designed to keep people locked in a cycle of poverty.

Taxpayers end up paying for it when these folks cant find work and end up back in the system. Just let people work.
Exactly. You pay your debt to society then the system tries to make sure you fail. This is just setting people up to reoffend.
My brother made mistakes when he was eighteen now he is thirty and trying to turn it around. This law is just wrong.
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY CRAZY! People need jobs to eat!

Ridiculous. Everyone deserves a second chance if they served their time. How are they supposed to pay taxes and survive without work
