We, the people of Bournemouth, call upon the Labour, Liberal Democrat and Green Party candidates in Bournemouth West and Bournemouth East to unite and put up single United Front candidates in each constituency for the General Election on 8 June 2017. This is the only possible way to defeat the Tories. Together we can seize seats in parliament to fight for a fully funded NHS, education system and properly resourced social and public services. Together we can vote in favour of affordable housing and a living wage for all the people of Bournemouth and have a genuine chance of winning. Sign this petition and contact your candidate now to persuade them to show the courage and maturity to represent the 74% of Bournemouth people who did not vote for the Tories in the last two general elections. Together we can get the politicians to represent us all. Together we can win.

This is so important... let's not split the vote. Get the Tories out , then push for Proportional Representation to stop them getting in when most voters in the constituency don't want them.

Collaboration is the best way. It's time to ask 'what is the future I want for this country?' If it's an eternal Tory government keep squabbling because that's exactly what the Tories want.

Please listen to your constituents- I am a one long LP party member and active trade unionist. I will vote for anyone who has a chance of ridding us of Conor Burns.

It is so difficult. I am tempted to campaign for Labour elsewhere, where there is a chance that more campaigning could swing it. Without some kind of progressive alliance in Bournemouth I am stuck. No-one has ever come within 4000 votes of the Tories in the last 100 years. The real problem is the first past the post system.

Hi Sarah. I know, It's tricky. Lib Dems are taking a clear Remain stance to gain a portion of the 48% and Labour are trying to retrieve some of the voters they lost to UKIP. My argument, as a Labour Party member who voted Remain is that if the Tories win the election there is no hope of a positive outcome - neither a rerun of the referendum nor an even vaguely positive deal on leavin the EU. Defeat the Tories first, then I think there's a chance in parliament of slugging out a decent outcome.... plus we get rid of the insane 'austerity' myth aka redistribution of wealth to the rich and the relentless asset stripping of UK public services to line the pockets of the same few rich people.

I don't see it like that. I am campaigning to get United Front candidates - people who are ready to work hard to represent all the views the three parties have in common and to work closely with all three parties to agree what to do about the policies that are incompatible. I can see making way working in some constituencies but in Bournemouth i think we need to be much clearer that we are working together not one or other of us giving up. It's the working together aspect that will get us votes from an otherwise disinterested public. What is there to lose? Every election for the last two hundred years we have just handed it to the Tories on a plate. No one party will win it on their own. Together we can win.
