The University of Surrey has printed, in the new student prospectus, changed semester dates starting in 2009/10. However, nowhere has the University informed the current students that this is happening. The consultation by the University of the changes was inadequate, and the communication from the University to the student body throughout the whole process has been unacceptable. According to senior students, the University has had poor communication with the students for years. We therefore call on the University of Surrey to increase communication with its students, and do more to prevent a breakdown in communication such as in the recent changing of semester dates.
