This surprises and saddens me. We striving under ATHENA SWAN to have KCL awarded silver status for the role of women within College and I discover that meanwhile we force women to dress like mannequins. I also have a string of complaints about the poor quality of service we are receiving from the new security- far more important to focus on that forcing women to wear a string of pearls.

I am by no means "pearlist" but wearing them and a skirt must be a choice for female staff, this is absolutely ridiculous.

It is hard to imagine a move that is simultaneously so retrograde and so absurd. If this is King's branding, then it's clearly hitching it's star to some inter-war notion of petit-bourgeois decorum.

its is discriminating against multiple forms of diversity as well as confirming a very narrow stereotype of feminity. It would prevent women from certain religious traditions from being able to work at Strands main reception. Who on earth came up with this?

jacket and trousers are formal work dress, used in schools, business and even in the law for both women and men. Sorry to hear that KCL is so behind the trend.
