If we are going to have a uniform policy then it should apply to all staff regardless of level. It also needs to reflect what is appropriate for 2014 not 1950

Company provided uniforms can be useful if employees are short of cash, but this one has an odour of professional hostess rather than university environment - a choice of dress or trousers needs to be provided and scrap those pearls!

This is dragging us back to Victorian England. However, I must take issue with the unqualified use of 'feminine' in this petition. There's nothing wrong with it, as long as it's personal choice and a personal idea of what it even means. This, on the other hand is the attempted enforcement of some mythical paradigm of feminity that xists only, I would argue, in the minds of men.

This is absolutely disgraceful. I'd also be interested to know what the uniform for male reception staff is, as I would have thought either gender should be free to choose any uniform if 2 different ones are prescribed?
