Subject:INVITATION TO INVESTIGATE UNIVERSITY OF ABUJA STUDENT UNION ACCOUNT OF OVER 17,000,000.00, WHICH WAS EMBEZZLED AND OVER 13,000,000 COLLECTED FROM STUDENTS TO NHIS

To whom it may concern.

I, a concerned student of university of ABUJA, hereby apply to invite EFCC and the ICPC to consider looking into the mismanagement and embezzlement of funds of the Union.

Since the inauguration of the administration, they have had one, perhaps two problems of mismanagement and embezzlement of students dues.

Whenever a student pays school fees, N1000 will be deducted, and sent to SUG's account, as Union dues. Whereas, University of ABUJA have over 17, 000 (Seventeen Thousand) students. If multiplied by 1000, it's N17,000,000.00.

The Student Union officials were given monies, out of the dues, to carryout project that will benefit students at large, nothing was done, until recently they started carving a spot in the school premises just to deceive the students.

Subsequently, N800 is also deducted from each student's payment for NHIS. We outrightly are not enjoying any benefit from that Scheme, which we paid for. By virtue of standard, every students are suppose to be a valid carrier of NHIS's registered Identity Card/Tag. Lo and behold, nothing has emerge from that area. And over 13 million was collected, when you multiply 800 by 17000.

However, the Student are being faced by too many challenges, and we have filed several complaint to the school management, without any visible results. The success of EFCC at Ibadan Polytechnic mismanagement of funds, however, informed this invitation. What transpired in Ibadan polytechnic is little, compared to that of University of Abuja.

it's worthy of note to inform you that, the administrators are backed by some elements in the school. This however, made all efforts to bring them to accountability futile.

Should this application be favorably considered, the whole students will forever be grateful to ICPC and shall continue to be good ambassadors of ICPC and Nigeria as a whole. Thank you

Yours faithfully,

Concerned Students

University of Abuja

Note: We demand an urgent intervention, as the administration of the corrupt SUG officials is about to elapse.

Please No Students representatives at the management level can be trusted. They are the reason why we are at a loggerheads right now. Enough is Enough!
