Unfair Parking Charges in St Albans

Once again Councils all over the land are introducing charges for services which were previously free. Worse still the charge has not brought with it any improvement or additional benefit with the service. No one monitors your car for thieves or protects it from vandals. You are getting no value for the money paid.

I now think twice about shopping and visiting St Albans due to the higher car parking fees.

The council are supposed to make things easier and better for the benefit of the people, not harder and more expensive

The Ver Valley Sopciety has spent thousands on developing walks along the Ver based on Westminsrter Lodge which have been much used. Shame to discourage this after the council supportrred it with noticeboards and path improvements

This policy is very anti visitor and appears to go against what most residents (who the council represent) want to happen in our city.

St Albans is supposed to be accessible to all but with so many restaurants and less shops to choose from it makes a very expensive trip out. Why pay extra?

if the parking charges remain then St Albans centre will soon be a ghost town on Sundays. Tourists and locals will be discouraged.

For a council that aims to encourage business in the city centre, it seems ahortsighted to impose Sunday parking charges. Sunday parking should be free.

it's time that the council realise that people are staying away. As a pensioner we do not have endless sums of money.

Once again it is the local people of St.Albans who have to suffer at the ever increasing charges and cutbacks. No regular reliable buses and now charging for parking - anyone would think that they want our town centre to be a ghost town!

I used to be a regular Sunday shopper when free parking was available but now I rarely visit.

Whilst I have no objection to paying £1 to park all day on a Sunday, I feel the weekday parking is quite high. The 2 hour free limit at Westminster Lodge is very restrictive, particularly when you consider that we have already paid considerable membership fees to the clubs/organisations we are attending and therefore need to use the car park.
