Visitors to St Albans need to stay longer than most shoppers. These charges are enough to deter many and show the City as a non-welcomimg place. Also many people prefer to shop on Sunday, combining this with a liesurely look at some of our 'heritage' attractions.

I usuly come into St Albans by bus ( using my over 60s bus pass)to avoid parking charges, but there are no buses on a Sunday! If there is a charge for car parking on Sundays, I just won't come into St Albans at all

Thomas,
That is terrible! It has had a huge impact on everyone. Thank you so much for signing the petition. The good news is that we brought it to debate at the council meeting last week and the motion was passed in our favour. This will now go to cabinet in October so fingers crossed they will reverse the charge.

As a member of the Abbey View Golf Society for many years ( retired )
and an excellent way to make friends, and keep fit. I hope the Council will reverse this daft charge. We meet, and hold our competitions on a Tuesday and Thursday. This charge puts more pressure on our meagre Pension, and restricts some members to just one day a Week. Also it must also affect the takings at Reception.
