Currently the Skateboarding community of Portsmouth, Southsea & surrounding areas, have no under cover facility to go to. We live somewhere it rains very often and while there are a handful of small skate parks around, none of them can be used when the weather is wet. Building a skate park under the M275 (Rudmore Roundabout) would be a great location. Away from residents and underneath the road. Plenty of parking options and a safe environment for the youths of that area too. It has no effect whatsoever on the public walkway through the roundabout and would be fenced off to avoid any accidents. Totally out of the way in current dead space.
We do not want any money! We just want to know you would be okay with it.

We, the undersigned, are 100% behind the idea of a skate park under Rudmore roundabout. We think it would be good for the community and the future skateboarders of the Olympics!

we just hit 500 signatures which is honestly way more than i imagined we would get. seeing everyone back this idea is pretty wild and it shows just how much we all need a spot to skate when it pours down. thanks for helping get this moving.

I think this is a great use of a space unlikely to be useful for any other purpose.. The new pump track at Hilsea has showen there is a demand and a real need for such projects in Portsmouth .
This is a great place for children to learn a growing sport. I spent the majority of my childhood skating in private property as there was nowhere to go. This would allow people to go somewhere rather than annoy pedestrians and private areas.
This would be such a great thing for Portsmouth for skateboarding, inline skating, bmxing and scooters. Even our best most diverse park (Southsea Skatepark) is open and those guy work hard to get it dry when we have a sudden downpour on an otherwise rainy day.
This is long overdue in the area of Portsmouth. The nearest undercover park is over an hour away by car, which is a luxury many young people don't have. Skateboarding is an incredibly positive community and form of exercise for body and mind. Let this happen!
True the space is dead, many people us it to skate but at the moment there are no halfpipes or ramps for skaters to use. With a strong Roller Derby team this city would only benefit from the repurposing of this otherwise unused space. Some shop vendors could operate here during the day, also, to accommodate the skaters.
This sounds a great idea. Definitely support people who will create something for others to use and putting it in an otherwise dead space is a great idea.
Amazing place

I would drive my son from Totton to use this - there is nowhere for people to skate when it's wet. Skate parks are good exercise and give kids a place to be outdoors and to socialise - away from street corners and not stuck indoors on games devices. Please allow this park to be built.
