We, the undersigned:
(i) have been longtime admirers of the BBC1 soap Eastenders and in particular the engimatic elderly Sikh man known to his fans only as 'Uncleji', who has appeared for some time now as a regular extra Eastenders at various locations (particularly, for some reason, that place where the sharab [booze] always flows freely, the Queen Vic)
(ii) believe that Uncleji has much to offer Eastenders and the nation, in terms of: educating people about Sikh religion; being an example of the dignity of elderly people; and offering his wisdom to the younger generation. For example, when was the last time a senior Eastenders characters advised younger people to eat more badam [almonds] or drink more milk
(iii) believe that it is long past time that Uncleji was given his oppportunity to show his unquestionable dramatic and dhari [beard] growing talents ;
AND WE NOW REQUEST that the BBC offers Uncleji a full speaking role involving the same intrigues, dilemmas, scandals and possibly even ghostly vistations that other Eastenders characters have enjoyed/suffered in the past.
Signed:
The scale of this response confirms the public demand for a narrative shift regarding Uncleji. I have prepared a formal request for a meeting with the BBC casting department to discuss integrating his character into the current rotation. My next step involves drafting a detailed breakdown of potential storylines for the showrunners.

Uncleji is an icon. He is always there in the background and he deserves a proper storyline. Give the man some lines already!

Yes!!! He is the best part of the Vic honestly. Need to see him actually chatting to the others not just standing there holding a pint.
