This is a proud and history University that has grown from a small school for Native Americans to a full fledged University. In the last 10 years there have been leaps and bounds made a far as growth and educational development. It is by far one of the best schools to in the UNC system as far as one on one caring professors and low tuition rate already. Don't kill my historic and proud University with this bill!

Being a recent alumni, I have personally seen the impact this University has on the students, faculty, visitors, and surrounding community. UNCP has went through tremendous growth and has a great vision to reach. I love my school and only want to see it strive and be as successful as possible, just as it has been doing!

Remove UNCP from Bill 873. UNCP is already one of the least expensive Universities in the UNC System. UNCP is experiencing growth and under the leadership of our new Chancellor Dr. Cummings, we all set great things coming to our University and our Community. Do not allow this Bill to devestate what it has taken generations to build.

Please remove UNCP from this bill. It will be detrimental to the institution.

How can tuition be so cheap when UNCP can barely afford to run as it is? It's overcrowded and makes cuts every year, a school should know proper economics and passing this bill isn't a wise decision.

My daughter is a 2013 undergraduate and a 2016 Masters degree graduate and UNCP is a needed institution for minorities, those training to be nurses and teachers, and for the heritage of the Lumber Tribal Nation.

If this bill is passed, it will be the worst mistake in NC.

UNCP is flourishing now more than ever. We have the potential to do greater thing than what we have already done. Don't kill our hopes and dreams of putting our name on the map! Turning the university into a community college will cause a lot of faculty members to be out of a job. We are a cheapest and most affordable public university in North Carolina, and we offer different programs that will give studentstge opportunity to get a head start in the classroom and in their college career. Please don't take this alway from the current students, alumni, and future students to come.

As a 2005 graduate of this prestigious university, I stand with her in opposition to SB873. The tuition at UNCP is already more affordable that most other UNC System Schools. To cap the in-state tuition at $1000/year with no definite provision to replace the lost revenue is a financial disaster waiting to happen.
