As a graduate from UNC-Pembroke, I want others to have the same opportunities that I had while I was there. With my future plans, I hope I can continue my education at Pembroke and I want others to be able to receive a quality education as I did. Pembroke taught me a lot of things and I don't want students to be negatively affected by changes that may be coming.

As a graduate of UNCP and a member of the local community, this would be detrimental to our local economy and to the school itself. Please leave the school funding and tuition as is. Thanks.

My great great grandfather was the founding fathers of this university and he did it so Native Americans would have a place to go to get a higher education.

If this bill is passed, my degree would be paper. It wouldn't hold any value to my future employers. When I graduated from UNCP almost 3 years ago, I had high hopes that the school would create a better name. I never thought that it would be seen as a lower standard. Please do not pass this bill. I went to the UNC system school with hopes that the name would be of quality. If UNCP gets the name that you are trying to make it, it will completely be an embarrassment to say that it was my alma mater.

The affects of that this bill at UNC Pembroke would cause an influx of loss prestige and reputation, and potentially cause the university to become bankrupt.

I do not support Senate Bill 873 as it does not contain a provision to guarantee funding to make up for the loss of tuition funding from future students. Will the General Assembly fund the growth and expansion of the university as it attracts more students with the lower tuition? UNCP is already one of the most affordable universities in the UNC system.
