This bill will almost certainly bankrupt these colleges.

The University of North Carolina at Pembroke has become a more competitive school each year that passes. It would be unfortunate to see the faculty members leave and the prestige to lessen due to a bill that was not thought out thoroughly. Additionally, UNCP has one of the lowest tuitions in the state amongst other UNC system schools.

UNC Pembroke is an impactful learning environment that has enriched the lives of the Lumbee People as well as other for many years. This bill not only hurts the quality of education provided by UNCP but tears down the foundation of Education our people took years to build.

If they don't let all the schools in the UNC system on this list. Then don't put any of them on the list...

As a current student of UNCP, I HIGHLY disagree with this bill. The fact that the state would even think about transforming my school as well as the others into community colleges completely baffles me. I honestly do not understand why the state would want to target some of the cheapest schools in the state, especially when these universities have masters programs. Even if the tuitions were dropped, students would still have to transfer to a 4-yr university to obtain a Bachelors Degree, which would cost the same, if not more. It would be a complete waste of time to transform these schools to community colleges being that there are ALREADY community colleges in most or all of these areas. So NC, please DO NOT pass this bill. My university, as well as others, is at stake.

Class Of 2014 And 2016. Please remove UCI from this bill. The University gives those with less finances available to a chance to get a real education. Passing this bill will definitely have a negative impact on the community and those will go are less fortunate financially.

I am a recent graduate and during my college career I have seen nothing but growth from this School. I am have an advantage in my field because of the time, effort, and resorources put into me. I am proud to be a Brave and want nothing more for others to have the opportunity of having the same experience, but lowering the tutition that drastically is not the way. Don't take away our right to honor our heritage and soar toward our future.
