If the bill is so favorable, why not include all the UNC system schools so they too experience higher growth, more affordable tuition, and the like? The bill is laced with much suspicion, and rightfully so. Why target only minority serving institutions?

I refuse for them to devalue the education of myself, my peers, and those who came through Pembroke State/UNC Pembroke before I did.

Uncp started my life. The most cultured university on the east coast needs protection.

I did not attend UNCP but many of my fellow Native sisters and brothers did and do. This must be stopped.

As a friend of the family of UNCP, I do not support Bill 873. This is a foul attempt to demean the quality of education at this university. Throw out this bill!

As an alumni of Winston-Salem State University I am in full support of UNC Pembroke's efforts to repeal SB873. This bill sets a bad precedent for the future of public higher education in North Carolina.

UNC Pembroke must continue to unify and stand against the systematic destruction of our MSI's and HBCU's!!

I find it shameful that NC is attempting to slide this Bill and others wrapped in “Jim Crow” past her citizens. I graduated from Pembroke State University (UNC-P), Majority Native American population and a HBCU (Clark Atlanta University). Why target schools identified as Schools of Color? Pay attention people or witness the rebirth of "Jim Crow." To be honest: Jim Crow never died.
