the schools are blocking our favorite websites now. I get blocking certian things but wattpad is just taking it too far. Wattpad gives us a way to read with having to pay $30 for a new book and its a way for new inspired wrighters to be seen by people all over the world. Please give us back our books.

I was just reading some of the comments where people mentioned how hard it is to write or find new stories without access to these sites and it honestly makes me even more annoyed that they just shut it all down without asking us. Some of you have been sending me links to other blocked sites too which is just wild because it is like they are trying to turn every computer into a glorified calculator or something. I am still trying to figure out who exactly makes these final decisions so I can actually send this over to them instead of just yelling into the void.

I just woke up and saw the notification and honestly my head is spinning because I never thought this many people cared about reading as much as I do. It feels like the tide is finally turning and maybe we can actually get back into those stories during lunch again since it feels like forever since I had a good chapter to hide in.

Im a freshman and wattpad was the website where i read what i loved and could write stories that i loved and others could enjoy withou feeling judged when that was taken away i didnt know what to do. I mean yeah i get that there are some reasons to block it but ITS A READING AND WRITING WEBSITE! just take it away from the kids that abuse it for gods sake
I am a highschool student with a very small school library, and the school system gives no other options to read outside or in school, and then they go and block the one way we've been able to read and actually ENJOY WHAT THEY'RE READING??? I would've thought teachers would rather have kids read then play video games, but I guess not.
school districts are always blocking unnecessary things and Wattpad shouldn't be one. Wattpad allows us teens to express ourselves, and there is so many ways to block out the inappropriate content on apps.
My school laptop doesn't let me read Wattpad even if I have done all my work. And it doesn't help when they say "you can read Matilda why aren't you", well Mrs that's because the school won't let me!!!!
This is crazy!!! I can't even log into my wattpad to finish publishing the book i'm writing. It's awful and it's going way too far. The schools neeed to stop and let kids/teens/young adults, to be aable to read, write, comment, and vote for books.
Wattpad is very slay
Wattpad is an easier way for students to express their writing without having to feel pressured into assignments. Not to mention how some students don't have anything else the can use it on.

I agree, as a wattpad writer for 4 years I have always been blocked in my school, its wrong. Ao3 isnt blocked... why is wattpad blocked?
