In support of friends who attend the school, I urge administration and students to work together to find a common ground and meet students' needs.

I understand that BHS is trying to follow through with their plans, while still attempting to meet the students' demands. But, the solution of purchasing or turning in your iPad seems ridiculous. Despite keeping the limit to one device, the "solution" gives the illusion that we have to pay a $50 fee to receive wifi on a personal device. The biggest problem is that we are attempting this half way into the school year, where we have already adapted our own study habits which revolve around the technology that we have been previously using. Attempting this in the middle of the year calls for changes that most likely will yield setbacks in the success of students. It is ok to test something out, but do it at a time when it won't set back any of the students.

A big part of my education is google, google docs, drive etc. Running simulations for my math and science classes, and being able to utilize graphing software is essential to my education. Please reconsider this issue

I didn't buy a 1400 dollar laptop to just have it sit around my desk. Ridiculous that a school that promotes technology is prohibiting its use. Waste of students and teachers time money and resources.

How can BHS say they are an distinguished school that uses technology in there classrooms to better the education of students when they are limiting the use of technology that students can use. Not all students can learn from the IPads, so they use laptops or other devices to learn, this is just hindering there opportunity to become a better student.

I can attest to the fact that VHS classes are a pain on an iPad so a laptop is a necessity, but both are useless without wifi.

I understand the school is attempting to resolve issues regarding the wifi (which may or may not be there, for all we know "network slowdowns" is a cover up), but this is a terrible way to go about it. Approved devices which students bring in such as laptops and other tablets should be allowed to connect. Think about it, no student will be connecting with an iPad and a laptop at the same time, so it's not as though students are overloading the network because it's simply not realistic that we will be using multiple devices at once. It is also not plausible to expect students to write essays, work on college/scholarship applications in a productive manner with iPad 2s that barely run IOS 7 without crashing. It is understandable to kick off phones from the network, but taking this a step farther and also kicking off devices students use for school is nonsensical. On top of all of this, the seniors currently have no wifi on our iPads, and even though this was not the plan, it is a major inconvenience. Basically we are off the grid right now, and every single one of my classes uses the internet extensively.

AP Java is much harder if you can't use your own device, I speak from experience. Also, my iPad is incapable of loading the Google Drive PDF textbook for Calc BC, meaning I have to spend a month's worth of time in class for homework just waiting for the bell.

honestly this is stupid like what kind of school doesn't have wifi??? i get this is a test but this is the worst time to do a test. The main purpose of this test is to have each person connected to only one device. But the IT refuses to connected any non-school devices such as laptops... leaving me with no devices connected to the internet. I CALL BULL
