that guy has worked there for years. Always ID'd me and I've seen him refuse people without ID. The person who should be getting the backlash is the thief. Can't imagine the CO OP would have been very happy if Adrian had just let the guy walk out with stolen items.

adrian is one of the best employees at the coop. he knows his regulars and will often acknowlege them and it's adds to much better shopping experience. the coop would be daft to sack him. save adrian jobs

I would call this reasonable restraint. With the minimum of force. Loss prevention is a must for any retailer to protect their jobs

The guy should be RECOGNISED for his commitment, not reprimanded. He's a shining example of an employee who selflessly goes the extra mile for his company. What is the world coming to.

Please do not be absurd, he should be thanked and given his job back.
His arrest is just not an isolated shoplifting inident, shoplifting is constant. Give him his job back.

It is my hope that this is just an overzealous HR response to a situation that in any other life, would / should have resulted in an accolade.
All too often these toerags simply get away with a ticking off at best.
Oh this one has just had just that from the magistrates
However when brave Adrian actually said to himself “enough” and dealt with the situation and pinned him down, it might just have given the little turd pause for thought about doing it again.
Reinstate and give the man a bonus
ASAP
