This is making the bus unaffordable. Why would BC Transit encourage more cars on the road?

My wife and I are seniors on fixed incomes. Riding around all day for five dollars does nothing for us. We used our green tickets and transfers for our medical appointments. You've now gouged youths and seniors. Our car is back on the road

Super unfair. Bring back hourly transfers, green tickets, and student bus passes!! This is ridiculous.

I don't believe BC Transit took families, students or seniors on fixed incomes into consideration when deciding that this new fare system would "simplify" the payment method. It makes it a financial hardship!!

If fares need to be raised -- do it across the board. It's the only way to spread that fairly instead of resting a 50% hike on youth and seniors.

As a senior I like to walk for exercise. I would walk 40 minutes to my son and take the bus back - cost $1.50. Now, with 2 transfers the cost is $4.50 - a 200% increase

Many notes on this:
- Transfers absolutely need to come back and I think will at some point soon.
- Day passes on busses ARE a great idea and should remain for $5/day or with two tickets.
- Monthly bus pass at $85 should be lowered significantly. This is already crazy expensive for commuters.
- Victoria transit needs a smart card system like Vancouver's Compass Card, which charges $2.10 for One Zone and you can transfer for up to 90 minutes in any fare zone.

I am a solo parent who lives in Fernwood whose son goes to Mount Doug Highschool. I have been buying him the monthly Youth Bus Pass for the past two years and will need to for the next two. I work full time and it already is extremely difficult to afford his bus pass; I see it now will cost more. I don't know how I can afford the extra $100 for each school year...$120 for his transportation in the summer. This increase will add stress and hardship to my family.

What idiot put you people in charge of us. You transit planners all suck and should be sacked and replaced by the bus drivers who could have told you your plans suck and everyone would hate you before you made the public angry and made province-wide idiots of yourselves. Maybe if you hire Monty Python as consultants it will help channel the bloodbath from our collective brain hemorrhage.

Taking away from seniors is wrong. Period.
With minimum wage being so low here and also welfare and disability payments not increased in years. I think to put in 2 bus tickets or pay $5.00 for an all day pass is unfair.

This will definitely be effecting activities we chose to do as a family this summer.. Many things we used to be able to do together will now cost double for transportation and we won't all be able to participate... (We like to walk to Beacon Hill Park and beaches and things, but most take 2 busses to get back home when we are all tired)

Another blunder by The Transit Authority. Do any of them have a brain??? My fare from the ferry to work at the airport just doubled. I don't use it to get home the same day, so the transfer does me NO good at all. Thanks!!!!!

It's too expensive if you're just planning on taking a bus one way and you can't pay the full 5$
