Time to get a standard in the industry on maximum studies one should perform on a daily basis! This is long overdue!

I love this suggestion Yvette! This is how we will find tangible and lasting solutions to these injuries, by collaborating with thought leaders, workforce members, and industry leaders to build the bridge to safety in sonography. Thank you for sharing.

It is heartbreaking that I spent so much money for the program, took 4 board exams, and worked so hard just to have a back injury after 10 years of scsnning (degeneration on only my right side/scanning side). My injury is dirrectly related to scanning too many patients per day..I can only work part time because of it which really isn't paying the bills. I feel that we are continually scanning more patients with less staff and less pay. I wish at the very least that the industry would figure out a way for us to lean on both sides and switch off, msybe a machine that come down from the ceiling for patients we can bring to the department so that we are not leaning all day not just to the right. My physical therapist said that imy spine degeneration is 100% from repetitive movements, and the more I scan, the more injury I will sustain. Hoping we can come to a solution!!

100% agree. I am a sonographer and as much as I love my job, I am in pain every day from repetitive motion strain scanning nonstop day after day. This is a real issue that is causing me to have to go back to school for another career path.

After scanning for 2 short years I currently have a shoulder injury that occurred on the job. The time to rest between exams and variety of exams back to back is so crucial to help prevent inj.
