At Xaverian, we have championship banners for every sport besides ultimate frisbee. In the last 3 years, the team has won two state titles. Since its entry into state tournaments, the team had placed in the top 10 all 3 years. This petition is for the purpose of requesting a championship banner in the gym or requesting some form of recognition for the ultimate frisbee team and their championships. Here are our reasons for an ultimate frisbee banner: -We have won 2 state titles in the last 3 years as well as many victories at invitational tournaments. -While not a varsity program, we have proven ourselves as a team that is dedicated to excellence and teamwork. -All sports programs at Xaverian have some form of recognition whether it be a banner or a placard. -While a club sport, the team and its players consider the sport just as competitive and as important as any varsity sport. -Ultimate Frisbee is growing very popular in the US and is very popular at Xaverian as well. -We have competed against many of the Catholic Conference teams such as CM and Saint John's Prep. -Each program has been recognized for all of their championships despite the division in which those championships were won. -Ultimate Frisbee has built itself up from a club into a major contender in the state title race every year. -Ultimate Frisbee is a recognized sport with a national governing body just like every other sport. -Xaverian Ultimate Frisbee has gained respect for our abilities and our character on and off the field. Please, help us gain recognition for our sport. We have so much pride in our program and want to be recognized for our victories and the hard work we put in to gain them.
