There seems to be something very odd in the medical approach to Lyme disease. It's not as if doctors seem to have any idea of what else the victims are suffering from, so surely a bacterium which is found in their blood is worth more research?

It is disgraceful that the UK lags so far behind mainland Germany in diagnosis of this potentially fatal disease..

It is unbelievable that we do not do something about this epidemic to deal with the infections before people deteriorate. Treatment for people in the later stages must be phenomenally expensive, Nip it in the bud!

Enough of the suffering, Lymes needs to be taking seriously and diagnosed and treated correctly.

The government puts money into unnecessary things but don't bother about something like this? Start treating people properly who have it.

Let's get rid of this disease once and for all. Too many mistakes being made and individuals suffering. Unless treated early it will ruin your life.

It is critical that the government must improve their understanding their understanding of lyme disease. it is a horrible disease and people are suffering. It's about time the government take responsibility.

Lyme disease is in the UK and many people who are sick with it are getting incorrectly diagnosed with ALS, MS, lupus, ME/CFS etc...and are being given the wrong medication. The nature and behaviour of Lyme bacteria is very different to other bacterias in that they hide in the tissues not in the blood, adapt themselves to match the DNA of their host and therefore becoming undetectable by the immune system. The symptoms are debilitating and ruin many people's lives. The current UK blood tests are not good enough in detecting Lyme and many people remain severely ill because of false negative tests. Sufferers cannot be ignored and expected to suffer. You cannot continue to ignore the fact that Lyme exists in the UK. If people can get appropriate treatment then less people will be on benefits.

Even when there is the classic rash, if the inadequate (30% accurate) tests appear negative, preventative antibiotics are refused. This had culminated in my daughter being left by the NHS with untreated Lyme disease for 17 years. Terrifying and very, very wrong.

We are living in darkness with no professional medical help and no one recognising just how dangerous and how inhumane this is to be left with no help and unrecognised for this dreadful disease. We need help NOW! Stop turning your backs on us..
