Our country is one among the undeveloped countries, the only way we shall develop it is through paying tax by every one, the money paid to the MPs is from tax so let them also pay. thanks.

We are unfortunately having leaders who love the resources of this country but don't have the country at heart; the welfare of all citizen depend on taxes (unfortunately most of the tax payers money go to the pockets of these greedy rulers in corruption). No matter the now situation, I believe a better Uganda (a country where resources do the needful- health sector, education, better payment of all civil servants etc.) is coming. I am therefore adding my voice among the many to denounce this overflow of greed by the MPs, and all other stakeholders who think they are better citizen than those who cannot afford medication and are dying daily because gov't health facilities can't rescue them through appropriate medical interventions( just a tip of an iceberg).

It's really unfair if Some of us who earn 250,000/= per month are taxed and the mps who get over 20 millions Ugandan shillings want to be tax free i strongly disagree this Income tax bill 2016 should not be amended

A good Ugandan citizen is the one that are voluntarily willing to pay taxes to enable the realisation of targeted economic growth and development level - This MPs need to be greatly ashamed of their greedy ideas of Tax exemption

This should not happen. MPs are being selfish and greedy. Every Ugandan's employment benefit is taxed, we have to fulfill our employers' obligations

Its really very unfair based on there fat salaries compared to civil servants who earn peanuts but pay alot.If MPs cant pay tax, then every Ugandan should not pay as well

I have wholly done my principle duty of building Uganda as a citizen by paying tax, first by being subjected to PAYEE and indirectly through cunsuption of goods. MPs are not Ghosts/spirits that they dont use these services we pay for, the too travel and work on roads, fall sick like any other human beings, need clean water, sewage treatment and management, ,protection and security against enemies and terrorists. they must pay tax and generate revenues for the a above mentioned services or also we make it clearly that the are spirits.

Although Uganda legislators need to pay well but Uganda MPs has become rubber stamp, when it come to passing critical bill, for example Public Management Act, what happened I think even now the president need such looking hungry characters.

Members of Parliament do not want to be taxed for one reason that they are taking on roles which are for the local governments, yet they are legislators period.

I reject the moved in the strongest term, such special treatment MPs are looking for in the mercy of poor peasants and low income earners.

So as to observe strict adherence to the principal of equity, a cross section of the public should not use their position and tilt policy stance to accommodate their interest. If a Teacher can pay PAYE HOW ABOUT AN MP WHO BAGS WELL ABOVE 15M PER MONTH????
