My allowances are taxed for the betterment of our nation and am ok with it. MPs should also put country first, not self.

Let us all be treated equally, MPS allowances must be subjected to taxes under all costs. They have robbed Ugandans for long. Mr. president save us from these greedy people.

all allowance must be taxed. exemptions should only apply to reinbursements. whats Good for the goose is Good for the gander. if you exempt allowances for MPs, then you would need to exempt allowances for everyone. allowances are taxed because you can't prove that all the money was used for the purpose to which it is allocated. let them get fuel cards paid for by parliament if They want fuel but not cash. if its cash, just tax

If leaders (MP) don't want to pay despite being one of the most remunerated groups in the country. whom do they think will meet the cost of service delivery?

Either they pay or taxing allowances is abolished for all other tax payers so that we are on leveled ground. Why the exceptions? We don't want some animals being more equal than others.

When my employer gives me a loan (salary advance) at an interest rate below market rate, I pay tax on that loan/advance. This soft loan is meant to enable me buy a car to ease movements as I perform the assigned duties or build a house. However I do pay tax on that soft advance/loan even when the money is paid to the vendor of the car or house!. For some staff who use company vehicles, they also pay tax cause it is believed that at some point the vehicle may be used for personal gain not always official work. These people earn much less than shs.25m consolidated pay to MPs. so if they can pay tax, why not MPs? My dear MPs, if you want "fat" allowances, how will they be paid when you don't want to pay tax? How will the huge administrative costs of government be met? As a country Uganda, how will we develop the infrastructure. Please don't be shameless, pay tax like any other good citizen. Suggestion: URA can put a cap on transport allowance, house allowance, sitting allowance...so that amounts paid beyond that figure is taxable for all Ugandans. That way the tax will be seen to be fair for all citizens and cases of tax evasion will reduce. Where MPs are given money for Constituency development, then such funds should be given as accountable imprest, failure to account then its deducted from their salary.

Please MPs, lets advocate for tax base expansion rather than squeezing it for the future of our beloved country.
