UEA does have an unfair policy on parking including the Smartshare Scheme which is not monitored closely enough. If people get one of these spaces and agree to share then they should be all the time! The parking fees are really unfair and costly yet there are no improvements to car parks and barriers still don't work. Where is all the money going??

Agree with this - parking costs should be reviewed sooner rather than later - More and more buildings are going up and less and less spaces are available - some of us come 18 miles with a child and work full time - its disgraceful when you get parking tickets for parking on grassed areas or a few inches over the white lines because the person next to you abaondons their car leaving you no choice - however parking attendants never seem to be where they are actually needed :o(

One would have thought that UEA knowing that pay has hardly increased over the last 5 years would have postponed any new price increases for at least the time being, as the government has done with petrol prices.

I agree with the premise that we come to work to earn money, not to pay it out.

I couldn't agree more with this petition. For those who live outside of the city driving is sometimes the only option and having to pay these increased parking charges is a real dent in everyone's monthly income. Please consider reducing rates and increasing staff morale.

Staff shouldn't have to pay to park. We come to work to be paid not to pay out.

As I work in Queens building and am often involved in classes that start at 0830 so need to be in at 0800 or just after, I would prefer to park in the West car park. I find it difficult to park if I arrive after 0800 but yesterday couldn't park at 0800 due to the amount of contractors vehicles taking up the spaces! It is getting a bit much!!

My brother works at the UEA and for all his years of service, and recent poor pay reviews, I think this just adds another issue to the list to show how undervalued the hard-working staff are!

I use park and ride sometimes but queuing in the cold, often wet and windy weather this time of the year, waiting for a bus at the end of the working day is awful and stopping off at the park and ride site increases journey home time. I often work late and when I leave, like to get home as soon as I can.

Any planned expansion of the University should be accompanied by planned car parking/transport for the extra staff and students. This is the root cause of the current problem.

UEA's situation is different from other universities. Our catchment area is so large and so rural that we need parking for staff for whom it is simply impossible to come here any other way.

Please rethink the rise in parking charges. The price of parking went up by over 40p this year. Why do you need to charge anyway?

9-5 has turned into 830-5 so that you can get parked. I wonder if this is an ingenious way of getting extra work out of staff.

Charges have gone up by over 60% since 2010! Definitely not enough spaces

Why should we pay more for a system where one or more of the barriers are always out of action and take forever to be repaired?

I have never understood why staff are charged to park in the first place. If the car park makes money out of students, visitors, and others using it (as it is a public car park) via the ticket machines then surely the staff shouldn't have to actually pay!

Parking is to expensive it cost me £34.00 a month to work here - increase parking charges and lack of spaces - the barriers hardly ever work always one or two out of action and it seems to take months to fix them..

I have to pay enough in fuel costs from Dereham without having car parking charges. If UEA keep increasing charges at a higher rate than the insrease in salaries then it will soon not be worth working!
