Changing policy during term (and so late into term) is unacceptable. It has detrimental effects on students wellbeing.

It is unfair to believe that the effects that Covid had on our studies have suddenly dissappeared.

I believe in my humble opinion that the decision to amend the safety net policy is unfair on students that struggled during covid and are still struggling now.

There is nothing ‘normal’ about the current state of University education at UEA

University life is far from normal. Most lectures are still online. Covid has impacted our teaching in so many ways, we have missed out on practical lessons, and had placement hours reduced. Not to mention the stress and worry, plus having to isolate.

I was massively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and long-distance learning wasn’t good enough. UEA can and should not be allowed to create policies to help students then revoke them whenever they want.

Not acceptable. All of my years at university have been effected by covid.
Taking this away without informing students who have invested their education in this university is not okay.

Students need this. It’s naive to think the pandemic isn’t still affecting peoples ability to study.

Haven’t we been through enough because of covid? Surely it only makes sense to have this safety net in place as two and a half out of our three years of uni has been impacted and disrupted by covid

It’s appalling you should make such a U-turn and dress it up as an amendment at this stage of Covid infections being the worst they’ve ever been. You’re playing with the students mental health! It’s utterly shameful

You cannot understate the effect Covid has on students - yes Covid has been going on for a long time now but it is still impacting EVERYTHING these students do - their well-being, their capacity, everything.

This is absolutely disgraceful. I am a healthcare student so this doesn’t affect me, but it’s appalling how they promised a safety net policy then suddenly withdrew it without telling anyone. This may even be a breach of contract between students and the uni, and it will have a catastrophic effect on students who have already had a dreadful time at uni thanks to covid and strikes.

What was the point of a safety net if it wasn't actually going to be implemented?
