The International Center means so much to so many people. Please
don't tear it down!

To demolish a structure is one thing; to destroy a valuable resource, together with critical programs is just plain stupid. A replacement plan is needed along with a seamless transition plan. The programs and the synergy of an International Center should not be lost!

I am a UCSD and Eleanor Roosevelt College alumna (1995) as well as former Director of the UCSD International House (2003-2007). The international Center with its various units supporting both incoming and outgoing students is a force for integration and understanding on the campus. I strongly support its continued existence as a unified whole.

If it wasn't for the center I would have never gone in my life changing experience go Australia for 6 months. Students need the center. To travel, learn, and find themselves

International center was and has been the life support for all the international students and their families who would come to UCSD
Besides this was also the place where the American students would also meet the people from around the world get to know different cultures , food and lots of other things thereby enriching their knowledge about the rest of the world
International center was a mini world bringing people together and fostering the idea of harmony and peace which the United Stated of America has always propagated and it's people strongly believed in

As an alumni of OAP program and intern of the PAO, the community and emphasis of international students and sending our students abroad is a major identity of UCSD. Keep them together!!

The international center is a hub and home for so many of us international students. I made my first friends at its Friday dinners and tours of San Diego. I am unsure what the administration hopes to achieve by destroying the building and splitting up its various functions. My feeling is it would confuse and isolate Americans and foreigners interested in expanding their horizons.

It is sad symbol of the changing priorities of our school systems when yet another place of diversity is struck down. This is yet another event that will be looked upon as a regret and a terrible step taken towards ignorance and unjust practices.
