We love the events at the International Center and frequently buy things at the resale shop. We have met and become friends with several international students. The Center should be reconstituted in another location. It is a needed and wonderful resource on campus.

It is very important to keep the international center intact. It is known not only at UCSD but I've heard also at other universiteit they see it as an example. Splitting it up or even worse, shutting down will not be beneficial for the whole campus.

The International Center is a great resource for incoming international students and researchers, and the fact that the collocation of the different organizations was helpful -- not only because one always finds people there to ask. Additionally, the demolition of the IC would constrain voluntary organizations that help so much in connecting internationals with locals and other internationals in providing their services and generating funds for their work. The demolition would really deteriorate the experience for incoming internationals.

Please delay the demolition of this Center until there are plans in place to re-configure, or to explain to faculty and students why the Center will no longer be in existence. It serves a valuable purpose for many of our students and creates community.

It is not an advised decision to tear down International Center before a plan to reinstate the Center is proposed and agreed upon. It benefits students in culture learning, English improvement, especially addressing problems newly coming international students.
