What a terrible thing the university is planning to do to this valuable resource. It is not showing the appreciation that such an important resource has offered all these years to students, staff and faculty.

The IC staff and advisors were very helpful in making me feel supported and offering valuable advice and process on several issues. The University will be less competitive if the IC is dissolved.

I really believe the International Center provides valuable information and resources to both international students coming to San Diego and also students who are seeking an international experience themselves. This facility should really stay open or at least have some plans made for what to do to replace the Center if it ever torn down.

It is a unique resource center that is valuable for me personaly, as someone who studied abroad, and others, who are yet to discover what this center has to offer. It deserves to keep its central location.

This is a great service and I count myself fortunate having been able to participate with the center as a community member who has tutored several UCSD students. It would be a shame to not have this center around.

It has been my privilege to work with the center as a volunteer . I teach English conversation to international graduate students and love every minute. I have experienced first hand how valuable the center is to students and tjheir spouses and families. No other place creates such a positve American experience and a true bridge between different cultures. The international programs at UCSD would suffer if the visiting international studnets and scholars did not have the easy access to the help and support they often require.

Please re-build or re-constitute the Center as a unit. It has provided a place of contact where our International Visiting Scholars and Visiting Graduate Students have met other international scholars and students and have received great services and resources.

We all need to stand together to put the brakes on this trend of eliminating student spaces. We need to make the chancellor aware how hard it is to develop community at UCSD, and how important these spaces are to student success, and how precious and fragile they are. I remember the lunches fondly. Revelle '89

I am a volunteer for the EIA program at the center and feel strongly that there should be a guarantee of a replacement of the building prior to demolition of the current structure.
