I'd really appreciate if we didn't have to pay, I really can't afford to pay for printing as well as the rest of my expenses.

Why not you cut off the staff free printing as well? let's be fair. I agree free printing is not a good policy, but the new one neither. Uni and students can work together to find out a better option. Life of postgraduate students is struggle already, so even if a small change can have detrimental impact on them.

Changing a contract without the agreement of BOTH parties is completely unacceptable and unethical! Only incoming students who knowingly sign a contract with this policy in it, should be charged for printing. I'm suprised it isn't illegal.

This is a totally unfair decision made entirely for cost-cutting reasons. I'm also disappointed by the lack of consultation and notice. I am writing my thesis at the moment and need to regularly print draft copies of chapters for editing. Not having free printing will make my research harder in so many ways!

The postgraduate population should have been included in the conversation that lead to this policy change. Two weeks notice for a significant change like this is not enough.

Postgrad students are already at a financial disadvantage because we can't get student allowance any more.

Considering that the tuition we have paid for comes largely in forms that can require printing or photocopying, forcing us to pay again seems problematic.

As a postgraduate commerce student doing an honors year, I have been told nothing at all about how to even access free printing facilities let alone hearing about it being cut until the two week announcement.

I'm all for reducing excessive printing. However, taking such a rash approach with minimal consultation or warning, and when alternative systems required aren't in place, seems completely wrong.

Maybe a better, more fair idea and less radical change would have been an allowance of 500-1000 pages per person per year.

It has huge cost implications on students. Every staff and meeting required papers to present. There is no laptop provided by the university to take everywhere to display your results and work
